About Palau
Palau, officially the Republic of Palau, is an island nation in the Micronesia subregion of Oceania, located in the western Pacific Ocean.
It comprises around 340 islands with a total area of 466 km², making it one of the world’s smallest countries. The most populous island is Koror, and the capital Ngerulmud is on Babeldaob, the largest island.
Palau is a presidential republic with a bicameral National Congress. Its economy is based on tourism, subsistence agriculture, fishing, and foreign aid. The official languages are Palauan and English.
